Tikdam is a film directed by Vivek Anchalia and it has started streaming on Jio Cinema. From its release announcement it has been hailed for its feel good vibes. It depicts the life of a small town in Uttrakhand, and weaves simplicity of living with an innocence. The star cast includes Amit Sial, Sonam Arora, Divyansh Dwivedi and Sharat Sonu. Vivek Anchalia has also contributed to the writing of this film along with Pankaj Nihalani and Animesh Verma.
When a loving father loses his job, he has to face the challenge of choosing between his children or a job in Mumbai. He has responsibilities that he can’t leave behind but he is also crippled by his circumstances. His kids hatch a plan to stop their father from moving away from them. Set in the backdrop of scenic hills of Uttarakhand, this film has ‘slice of life’ elements that are hard to find in mainstream Bollywood. Planning an OTT release was also a wise decision on the part of the makers as viewers would love witnessing this film up close and it can be an ideal family-time watch!
