In a shocking case, a woman named Seema, also known as Nikki, has been arrested for a decade-long marriage scam. She married wealthy men, extorted money from them, and stole valuables worth ₹1.25 crore.
Seema’s first victim was a businessman from Agra in 2013, whom she married and then manipulated into settling ₹75 lakh after filing false allegations.

In 2017, she did the same with a software engineer in Gurugram, demanding ₹10 lakh after marriage. Her most recent victim, a businessman from Jaipur, had ₹36 lakh worth of jewellery and cash stolen by Seema in 2023.
The investigations revealed that Seema targeted men who were either divorced or widowed, using matrimonial websites to find vulnerable victims.

She married them quickly, gaining their trust before executing her fraudulent schemes. Seema carefully chose men from different states, making it harder for the police to trace her.
This case has brought to light the growing number of marriage-related frauds by women. Cases like that of Atul Shubhash, already gotten a lot of attention. Marriage has become a trap in modern times.

Police authorities are urging people to be cautious while using matrimonial platforms and to verify the backgrounds of potential matches thoroughly.
