Sharmila Tagore recently opened up about her much-talked-about bikini scene in the 1976 film ‘An Evening In Paris’, which left many shocked and surprised at that time. In a recent candid conversation with Twinkle Khanna, the legendary actress was quizzed about how her bikini posters suddenly disappeared from Mumbai, to which the veteran actress laughed and shared that not the whole city, but she did get her driver to remove them from around the area where she was living. The ‘Chupke Chupke’ actress said, ‘Because my mother-in-law was visiting me. There was this huge poster with Shammi Kapoor standing, and behind it was me. His body covered my mid-riff but my bare legs and arms were outside. It was quite a titillating poster. At night, my driver and bearer went and took it out. But there must be many other posters on the way which Amma saw.’ When Twinkle asked whether her mother-in-law asked her about it, the veteran actor chuckled, ‘She didn’t bother.’ Further, Saif Ali Khan’s mother shared that the poster controversy became a learning curve for her. ‘I realised that being a public figure, you must understand your audience. In front of the camera, you are emoting that is landing very well with the Indian audience, but this kind of radical thing will not go down well with them.’ For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
