The popular animated film The Lion King achieved blockbuster success worldwide, including in Telugu, where it was well-received.
Following its success, a prequel titled Mufasa: The Lion King was released last year, appealing to both children and adults.

Directed by Barry Jenkins, the film creatively adapted a beloved folk tale using lions as central characters, delivering a visually stunning experience.
Produced by Walt Disney Pictures under the direction of Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak, Mufasa: The Lion King hit theaters on December 20 and turned out to be a major success, earning an impressive 3,200 crores globally.

The film was released in multiple languages, with Mahesh Babu providing the Telugu voiceover, while Shah Rukh Khan lent his voice for the Hindi version, with his son AbRam voicing young Mufasa.
Although the film was initially announced for an OTT release on February 18, it faced a delay. However, Jio Hotstar has now confirmed that Mufasa: The Lion King will begin streaming in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi from March 26.

The film did a business of almost 200 crores in India. The film started slow at the box office but picked up big time over the Christmas and New Year Holidays and held up consistently well.
We have to now see if the OTT audience showers the same kind of response to Mufasa on Jio Hotstar.
