Devara is NTR’s first crucial step toward his pan-India stardom. If we look at the results so far, Devara will be seen as a successful venture and will set the perfect momentum for his next projects, War 2 and Prashanth Neel’s film, for which he won’t need to sweat as much.
War 2 will offer a fresh combination of Hrithik Roshan and a South star like NTR, and Hrithik will handle the reach in Hindi markets as this is YRF’s most awaited spy franchise sequel.

When it comes to NTR and Prashanth Neel, Neel is already an established pan-India director, so the entire burden will not fall on NTR. By the time this movie is out, War 2 will have brought NTR closer to North audiences.
So, in every way we look at it, the entire burden of promoting Devara was on NTR to market it in Hindi and other regions. But that is where NTR failed Devara.

He has not even started Devara promotions with just four weeks left until the release. He attended a formal press meet in Mumbai, did a couple of recorded interviews, and made his presence felt on a TV show.

This raises the question: when RRR was promoted heavily, it was NTR who dominated discussions, overshadowing Rajamouli and Ram Charan. However, now it seems that the credit for RRR’s marketing and promotional buzz lies more with Rajamouli’s strategy than with NTR.
Oddly, looking at Devara, he did not adopt any of the successful tactics used for RRR. Even his hardcore fans are unhappy with his laid-back attitude toward Devara promotions.
The strangest part is that now they are releasing Devara interviews, which exposes the marketing failure and highlights how NTR failed Devara.
The majority opine that had he put in some hard work to push the film, the Hindi version would have performed even better; that is where he failed Devara.
