Coming to the topic now, with regard to the musical work, it really needs to be said that Thaman is lagging miles behind Anirudh.
Anirudh’s first two songs for Devara – Fear Song and Chuttamalle were a rage from the start. There are people who didn’t like these songs as well, but for whatever reason, these two songs created a social media debate and could ultimately keep the film in the news all along which helped the cause.

But in the case of Game Changer, the first two songs make little to no noise whatsoever.
Even remembering the names of the two songs is tough for the common audience. Such is the low buzz they generated. Thaman, indeed is a big name in the Telugu musical scene but for some odd reason, he is unable to add musical zest to Game Changer.

This is exactly where pan Indian biggies can get benefitted from the branding of the music director, like for instance, an Anirudh or a Rahman work will certainly garner attention regardless of the merit of the song. This kind of anticipation is lacking in the case of Game Changer.
That being said, Thaman is an expert musician and he can turn things around very quickly. He almost single-handedly lifted films like Ala Vaikunthapurramulo. His work for Guntur Kaaram is also very good.
Thaman could well make up for the poor work thus far by delivering a couple of winners henceforth and also with his trademark high-pitch BGM.
