We are now in a time when Telugu heroes and major production houses view making stand-alone Telugu films as a lesser achievement or a low standard.
Many Telugu films in 2024 were built on false hopes and dreams of pan-India success. As soon as these films were announced, posters were released in four to five languages, especially targeting the Hindi market.

Several of these so-called pan-India projects never moved beyond the announcement stage. Films like Ravi Teja’s Eagle, Varun Tej’s Operation Valentine and Matka, Ram’s Double iSmart, Nani’s Saripodhaa Sanivaaram are prime examples.
Audiences in the Hindi-speaking belt remain unaware of these films or even their titles.

Among these, Varun Tej traveled to Mumbai to promote his films. Ram relied on the success of the first iSmart Shankar, which gained significant traction among Hindi audiences on YouTube, hoping that Double iSmart would find similar success in theaters. However, it faced outright rejection despite his attempt to promote it in Mumbai.
Nani, despite repeated attempts, continues to struggle with understanding the pan-India audience. His film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, released in Hindi under a different title, was a complete washout. Varun Tej’s films, on the other hand, barely garner attention, whether in Telugu or Hindi.

These films, and perhaps there could be more, were announced as pan-India projects but ended up as mere posters in 2024.
