However, the latest update is that one such leading social platform that happened to nurture pirated content, Telegram is likely to be taken down soon. The CEO of the company was arrested in France recently and it looks likely that the Telegram company might also be taken down soon.
Telegram is one of the popular platforms that permits large-format file sharing. This makes it easier for people to share pirated content.

As a result, the majority of the pirated content distribution was allegedly happening on Telegram with new films and OTT content arriving here immediately after their release.
But now that there are reports that Telegram could well be banned in India soon over criminal charges, this could come as a good news to Tollywood as well.

Needless to say, Telugu content is very much consumed on Telegram as our films have the wides patronage in all of India. So, with this likely ban on Telegram, it could be seen as a big relief to Tollywood and also the Telugu OTT space.
