Teenage girl killed in hit-and-run on Koheda service road; car sped away without stopping

An 18-year-old student was killed and a 20-year-old youth sustained injuries in a hit-and-run case on the Koheda service road, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, on Thursday (April 10, 2025) evening.

The deceased, Oppu Spandana, was riding pillion on a two-wheeler being driven by her neighbour Sai Kumar, a private employee. The duo was travelling along the service road when a speeding car, a sedan, rammed into them from behind and sped away without stopping.

“Spandana succumbed to her injuries on the spot. Sai Kumar was injured and rushed to a nearby hospital by locals,” said the police. 

Abdullapurmet police have registered a case and are scanning CCTV footage from the area in an attempt to identify the vehicle involved. An investigation is currently underway.
