Su Qin, a 37-year-old software developer living in Singapore recently found herself navigating stormy waters after she landed herself in trouble by forging her medical certificate on Photoshop to get a few days off of work!
Su Qin, who worked at an IT company in Singapore, used her Photoshop skills to forge a medical certificate. Later she clarified that she desperately needed the leave as she was overwhelmed by her mother’s poor health back in China.

She was caught red-handed by her company, who dragged her to court. The court slapped Su with a hefty fine of $5000 for forging her certificate, and she was dismissed immediately from her job.
This incident is all too common in India as well where a couple of fake coughs, some phone calls and a friendly local doctor can do a little bit of magic for the techies to create a forged medical certificate for a few extra days of leave! But Su Qin’s incident should serve as a reminder to the techies who often use this method to get away from work.

If your HR smells something fishy and decides to dig deep, there is a high chance that you too could get caught and have the same fate as poor Su did. One should always remain careful before going down that path, as getting caught could mean much more than a rebuke from your manager.

So think twice before deciding to attempt such a stunt, because if you keep at it, your temporary leave might soon turn into a permanent one!
