The responsibility of protecting the properties belonging to government schools is primarily with the teachers, says Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan participated as chief guest at the mega Parents-Teachers’ Meeting at the Municipal High School in Kadapa on December 7, 2024 (Saturday).

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said it was the responsibility of the Education Department to keep the government school premises clean and equip the institutions with modern facilities. Apart from ensuring cent percent attendance, the teachers should also be punctual, he said.

“Every parent sends children to school to ensure a bright future for them. I will bear the cost of gifts and souvenirs in the incentive programmes held at the municipal high school. Kadapa Municipal Corporation has promised to provide funds for the works pertaining to the school’s kitchen. The State government will look into providing bus facility, especially for the students from distant places,” he said.

“We have received information that some people are using the government schools as their own offices. We will not tolerate anyone misusing the government buildings and properties for private purposes. Criminal cases will be registered against such people. In case of any injustice to girls and innocent students, bring it to the attention of the district administration. We will take care,” he said.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan asked the government school staff to identify the students who were underweight, provide them nutritious food through the Mid-Day Meal scheme. He directed them to pay special attention to the students’ health. “Plans are underway to provide healthy food to the teachers as well. I am in talks with the Chief Minister on the issue,” he added.

He said the number of students would gradually increase through these programmes. The main objective of the government in conducting the meeting was to strengthen the government schools and provide quality education to the poor students. “The Education Department must take part in achieving this goal,” he said.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan assured the people of Rayalaseema that he would solve the water scarcity in the region.

“Two Chief Ministers had hailed from the region. But water problem still persists. The immediate target of the NDA government is to ensure there is no problem for drinking water,” he Mr. Pawan Kalyan said.

“Rayalaseema districts have the highest number of libraries. The wealth of knowledge is likely to be high among the people here. If society is not given proper education, then it is a hindrance to development. Apart from providing basic facilities in schools, the State government is taking special measures to impart quality and value-based education.” he added.
