In probably a one-of-its-kind development, a till-date obscure tea stall has been making news in Telangana.
It all started with the Collector of Sircilla Sandeep Kumar Jha ordering the shutting down of KTR tea stall in the Bathukamma Ghat. The Collector was passing by and saw a huge picture of KTR displayed at the tea stall. He stopped and asked for trade license from the tea stall owner Bathula Srinivas. When he didn’t have one, the Collector ordered for shutting down of the 4-yr-old tea stall.

This created an instant buzz on social media for the Collector showing his might on a small tea stall owner. But that didn’t stop there. Today morning, a crane cleared the stall from the spot leaving Srinivas and family without a source of income.
As the incident has been widely reported, Sircilla MLA KTR today spoke to Srinivas over the phone and assured him that he will come to Sircilla and start a new stall and open it himself.

He assured Srinivas that he would take care of his family and told him not to worry.
Srinivas happens to be a small-time tea seller who earns daily money from the tea stall.

The social media is abuzz with the high-handedness of the civil servant and how the poor are harassed if they belong to a different political party.
India is a democratic country with multiple parties. Such acts show the pettiness and revengeful acts of some politically motivated people who cannot leave even a tea stall owner. This is the current mood on social media.
There are others who say that social media sensation Kumari aunty’s stall runs with the blessings of Telangana CM Revanth Reddy. Despite the discomfort and regular traffic jams, she is able to run her business while a small tea stall has become a matter of ego!
