Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s son, Taimur Ali Khan, is just nine-years-old. But people have already started wondering if he’s going to follow in their footsteps and become an actor. In a recent chat with his Jewel Thief co-star Jaideep Ahlawat, Saif shared that Taimur is doing a school play, but isn’t the biggest fan of memorising dialogues. To Taimur’s surprise, however, people praised his efforts even though he wasn’t interested in performing before a crowd.
In a video shared on Netflix India’s YouTube channel, Saif said, “Taimur is doing a school play, and he said, ‘Mujhe bahut darr lagta hai, Abba, logo ke saamne. Maine bola mujhe dialogues nahi bolne hain (I get scared in front of people Dad. I said I don’t want to recite any dialogues).’ And somebody said, ‘You are so great. You speak so many lines. I don’t know how you learned these lines’.”
Jaideep then asked Saif how Taimur deals with the fame that he attracts as a son of major movie stars, and Saif shared that Taimur has grown up with it. “I think he is just used to it. And I hope he realises that we are quite down to earth and normal,” he shared, and added, “It’s a lovely job and that you shouldn’t take yourself too seriously.” Saif then spoke about his parents – father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and mother Sharmila Tagore – and said, “My father was a star, and my mother is a star, but they were quite normal and strict at home. That’s an important thing.”
In the same chat, Saif shared that he made Taimur sit through his critically panned film Adipurush. “I just showed him Adipurush recently. Then, after a while, he started giving me a look. Then I said ‘Yeah, sorry’. He said, ‘it’s okay’. He forgave me,” he shared with a laugh.
