2024 ended with a bang due to the big success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which was able to earn more than Rs. 1,000 crores net at the Indian box office, according to producers.
While people were not expecting any Hindi film to touch the mark of even Rs. 300 crores, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava was able to break that record.

Both films have survived for more than three weeks and their respective performances improvised every time. Pushpa was specifically able to make some amazing records in the Hindi market despite being a Telugu film.
Chhaava, based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, managed to receive decent feedback on Day 1, which also marked Valentine’s Day.

While the numbers were less compared to Pushpa 2, it was still considered to be big, specifically for a film featuring Vicky Kaushal.
Chhaava had a blockbuster first weekend, where it accumulated Rs. 209 crores. It continued creating records in the next weekend, collecting almost Rs. 171 crores. The number for the third week was also up to the mark, where it grossed Rs. 80 crores.

This has also proved that Chhaava might touch the mark of Rs. 500 crores.
However, Rs. 600 crores might not be an easy thing to do for Chhaava since the shows are expected to decrease in the upcoming weeks since multiple films are getting re-released and some international films are getting an official release in India.
Pushpa 2 was able to earn Rs. 600 crores since it took an opening week of Rs. 389 crores, which was a lot higher than Chhaava.
There was a minor difference in the collections compared to Chhaava for the next two weeks. But the film still broke records due to its release in other languages, which did not happen for Chhaava initially.
Chhaava still has a chance to record a better number since the big films, including Sikandar, L2: Empuraan, and Hari Hara Veera Mallu are arriving towards the end of this month. Even if this does not happen, nothing can change the fact that Chhaava is a blockbuster.
