Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev Sen and his ex-wife, actor Charu Asopa got divorced in 2023 after four years of marriage and while they often recorded their marital troubles on their respective YouTube channels, the back and forth continued even after their divorce. Now, after a recent vlog where Rajeev questioned that he was not getting enough time with his daughter Ziana, Charu retaliated in her own vlog, saying that a parent is not offered the privilege of being present, they just have to be around. Rajeev, in a new video, has said that Charu has been showing him in bad light, and threatened that he could file a legal complaint because of the defamation caused by Charu.
In the new vlog, Rajeev said that it was “not fair” that Charu brought his name up in many of her vlogs. Charu recently moved from Mumbai to Bikaner, where her parents reside, as she found it financially difficult to survive in Mumbai whilst providing a decent standard of living to their daughter. “You are enjoying bad comments about me and most of them are paid PR, we all know that. That’s why I was worried that no one misuses the money,” he said, as he implied that he was either paying alimony or for his daughter’s expenses.
Addressing Charu in the video, Rajeev said, “You gave so many interviews against me and I didn’t say anything, now I won’t stay quiet anymore.” He addressed Charu’s allegations against him that he wasn’t around during the pregnancy and said, “She accused me of not being with her during the pregnancy, that’s not the case. I was there with her. I have vlogs to prove it. She was the one running away from me. Don’t say that I was gone for 4 months, that’s not true.”
Towards the end of the vlog, he threatened her with legal action and said, “I tried that our fights don’t have to be discussed in court but now it looks like there is no other option. If I start then I won’t stop because I have been through a lot, and my family has also been through a lot.”
Previously, Charu Asopa, in her vlog, said, “I have never stopped you from meeting your daughter. I might have said that please change the time or adjust your plans but I never refused.” She said this in response to Rajeev Sen’s accusations that he wasn’t allowed to meet their daughter.” She said that despite their divorce, she has been cordial with his family and maintained all relationships with his side of the family as she believes that it is essential for their daughter to grow up in a harmonious family.
Since their divorce, Rajeev and Charu have attended many family functions together and recorded those on their vlogs. The duo has also been on family vacations with their daughter and have repeatedly insisted that this is for the well being of their daughter.
