Cristiano Ronaldo Jr is set to join the Mahd Academy in Saudi Arabia following his dad’s decision to join Al-Nassr in the country’s Pro League.

Ronaldo Jr left Manchester United’s academy when Ronaldo Sr’s contract with the Premier League club was terminated, and he’s since been pictured playing in The Kingdom with a proud Georgina Rodriguez watching on.

Rodriguez, Ronaldo’s partner, posted an image on Instagram alongside her other stepson, Matteo Ronaldo, with the caption, ‘Supporting the big brother playing’.

Ronaldo Jr, Cristiano’s first born, has seen his youth career mirror his father’s, with spells at Real Madrid, Juventus and then United.

But when the player severed ties at Old Trafford following a bombshell TV interview in which he savaged the club, its owners, and manager Erik ten Hag, his son also departed the team.

Ronaldo Jr had officially joined United’s youth ranks in February 2022, taking his dad’s iconic No.7 shirt.

He featured for the U12s alongside Wayne Rooney’s son Kai, and even whipped out his dad’s signature ‘SIUUU’ celebration after one goal.

Both the Portugal captain and his son trained with Real Madrid while Ronaldo Snr looked for a new club, after the World Cup and his family have now moved with him to the Middle East.

That includes Argentine-Spanish model Rodriguez, 12-year-old Ronaldo Jr, twins Eva and Matteo, his first child with Rodriguez, Alana Martina, and their second-born Bella Esmeralda.

The family are currently living in a luxury 17-room hotel suite in Riyad before finding a permanent home in Saudi.

Ronaldo is settling well into life and has been posting pictures with teammates as they train together.

He was even seen enjoying Anderson Talisca’s son version of his celebration, laughing as the changing room shouted ‘siiuuu’.

His first game in his new home, though, will not be for Al Nassr and will instead be for a Riyadh All-Star XI against PSG on Thursday.
