Amid Kim Sae Ron’s row, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, GOLD MEDALIST, was also accused of forcing the late actor Sulli, aka Choi Jin Ri, into performing an explicit scene in her 2017 movie Real alongside Soo Hyun. The act alone drew massive backlash against the actor, who faced intense cyberbullying and harassment. Now, after six years, her brother Choi Da Hee has spoken out. He raised three key questions, demanding answers from the Queen of Tears star and his agency—asking why she was forced into the scene, why a body double wasn’t used, and if a body double was available, why was the scene filmed differently?
Gold Medalist addresses Sulli’s Real scene controversy
GOLD MEDALIST has released a full statement saying they informed the actor about the scene beforehand and never forced her. They also dismissed the body double claims. The agency explained that from the beginning, the role of Song Yoo Hwa, played by Sulli, involved a bed scene. They emphasised that this was clearly communicated before casting. “We believe that discussing such scenes only after casting could place undue pressure or create a sense of being coerced for the actor.”
According to GOLD MEDALIST and Real’s director, Lee Ro Be, Sulli and her agency were given full details, including a script that included the scene, visual references explaining the level of nudity, and a contract outlining these requirements. The version of the script provided to the late actress and her then-agency included the bed scene, and the character briefing materials for Song Yoo Hwa contained visual references for the level of nudity,” Gold Medalist (agency co-owned by Kim Soo Hyun and his cousin Lee Sa Rang) said in a statement via MK Sports.
The company also responded to her brother’s claims about a body double, denying that any actor was used to perform the scene in her place. “There was no acting body double. A stand-in was used only for camera positioning and blocking, but not for the actual filming,” GOLD MEDALIST explained. In the lengthy statement, the agency said they attached written statements from Real’s assistant director Kim Jung Ok and script supervisor Lee Joon Hyun as witnesses who were present during the filming of the specific scene in question. Furthermore, they dismissed claims that Kim Soo Hyun was involved in any decision-making or had any behind-the-scenes role beyond acting in the movie.
“Kim Soo Hyun, who appeared in the film, was not involved in the scenario, storyboard, or filming decisions, which fall entirely under the production team’s domain. As confirmed by key staff members of the production, both the late actress and her agency had full knowledge of the role’s requirements.”

Addressing allegations of pressure on family
Sulli’s brother had also alleged that the company tried to pressure their mother into staying silent. GOLD MEDALIST denied this, saying, “We have never contacted the late actress’s mother and do not have her contact information.” They urged people to avoid spreading unverified claims, stating that resurfacing past events and presenting them as personal experiences is difficult for them to accept. “We understand that one may be curious about the truth of certain statements heard at the funeral. However, bringing up an event from over six years ago now, and posting things on social media as if they were personal experiences when they are not factual, is difficult for us to accept.”
Earlier, Kim Soo Hyun and his lawyer dismissed five pictures released by the Garo Sero Institute and the late Kim Sae Ron’s family, alleging that the two were in a relationship when Sae Ron was a minor. The actor and his team insisted that most of those pictures were taken when they were both adults and during their brief dating history of almost one and a half years. Since then, Garo Sero has released more evidence to support their claims.
