Vaageesan, who was celebrating Deepavali with his family on October 31, 2024, when the film was released, started receiving incessant calls from strangers.

Initially unaware of the reason, he later discovered that his phone number had been featured in a scene where Sai Pallavi tosses a paper with her number, which in reality was Vaageesan’s.

Despite attempts to explain the mix-up, the calls did not stop, causing severe mental distress and interrupting his daily activities.

Vaageesan claimed that since the film’s release, he could not sleep, study, or carry out basic tasks without constant interruptions. He even struggled to use his phone for basic needs like booking a cab due to the flood of calls.

After failing to get a response from the filmmakers despite posting on social media, Vaageesan took legal action.

Through his lawyer, he has demanded 1.1 crore in compensation for the hardship caused and asked the makers to remove his number from the movie.

He also stated that he did not want to change his number due to its links to essential services like his Aadhaar, bank accounts, and academic platforms.
