Naga Vamsi’s comments, particularly his statement that “the whole of Mumbai could not sleep looking at Pushpa 2 collections,” were seen as derogatory by a larger section of the Bollywood media.

He said that post the pandemic era, Bollywood has also given five projects that crossed the ₹500-crore mark (Pathaan, Jawan, Animal, Gadar 2, and Stree 2). Just Maddock Films or Jio Films are not enough to run this industry.
He said, “There might be 1-2 people who might think that way, but whenever I have gone to the South, they have been very, very encouraging. It’s better we all industries come together and make 500+800 crore films to collect 1300 crores. We should aim for that.”
Meanwhile, when Akshay was asked the same, he made a lighthearted comment in Punjabi that it’s better if Dinesh comments on the situation as he has more experience with hits in recent times.
