Currently, Stree 2’s total earnings stand at 495 crore net, and by the end of the week, it should be around 510 crore net, surpassing Bahubali 2. It has already exceeded the 494 crore net collected by Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal in India.

A few weeks ago, it would have seemed laughable to predict that Stree 2 would beat Animal.

Beating Animal, which had a star-studded cast and was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga amid many controversies, is a huge achievement for Stree 2.

Stree 2’s collections are nearly double those of Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD in Hindi, and both films are on par at the pan-India level. Given that Kalki had a massive 600 crore budget and huge stars, Stree 2’s performance is simply unbelievable.

Despite being an above-average entertainer with no major stars and not offering groundbreaking cinema, Stree 2 has achieved massive success, highlighting the changing dynamics of the film industry.

Stree 2’s box office success proves that while content is crucial, it’s not the only factor driving a film’s performance.

The film’s strategic release during a period with multiple holidays played a key role in its success. The sequel factor also worked in its favor, as audiences were already invested in the story and eager for its continuation.

The strong recall value of the characters from the first film and the widespread reach of the original on TV further boosted interest.

Combined with a well-timed release with a free run for almost 6-7 weeks, these elements have propelled Stree 2 to an extraordinary and unprecedented box office run.
