State vs Nobody Success Sparks Pan-India Plans

Nani’s latest production Court: State vs Nobody has exceeded pre-release expectations, proving that even courtroom dramas can succeed in theatres despite the current OTT trend.

Nani, who has already made a mark as a producer with films like Awe and HIT, seems to be keen on building another strong franchise with Court. During a recent success meet, Nani hinted at a possible sequel, adding fuel to speculation about a follow-up film.

While the story naturally allows for a continuation, insiders reveal that there’s a bigger plan in place to expand it on a pan-India scale.

In a country like India there are many unusual and shocking cases. So, Court also has the potential to evolve into a series if the makers can pick up the most hard-hitting ones.

While the first film revolved around a POCSO case, the sequel may explore a fresh legal thriller theme. Although the plot and drama are expected to change, the lawyer’s character will likely continue.

Reports suggest that Court’s director Ram Jagadeesh has been locked by Nani’s Wall Poster Cinema banner. However, there’s no clarity if his next will be Court’s sequel or some other fresh film.

According to trade, Court has collected around 23 crores worldwide gross in 3 days and has already crossed the breakeven mark by a distance.
