Shahid Kapoor’s big-budget film Ashwatthama has been recently shelved due to budgetary constraints. The project was in the headlines over the last few years as it was expected to focus on the life of Dronacharya’s son.

While popular faces like Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh were reportedly approached to play the lead, Shahid was finalized for the role.

The latest news has been a big shock for everyone considering that it was announced earlier this year at an event of Amazon Prime Video where the streaming platform announced the titles scheduled to premiere in 2024.

Ashwatthama was supposed to arrive in five languages. Even if the magnum opus is canceled now, it is a good decision since films with high budgets are failing to recover the investments this month.

Moreover, the film was produced by Pooja Entertainment, which has held a record for delivering multiple flops and average projects over the last 23 years. The latest film to become a disaster was Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

The production company’s last hit film was Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Hai, which came a long time back in 2001.

Since they have a lineup of flops on their list, people still wonder how Vashu Bhagnani’s company has been operating so easily.

Now Shahid is not doing a film with them anymore. It is an amazing opportunity for the actor to grab something that would bring out his potential on the big screen.

Even if Shahid has started taking breaks between his releases and some of them have also flopped, no one can deny that he has given a flawless performance.

It remains to be seen whether Shahid will find a meaningful script in the upcoming days.
