Stalin distributes cheques for in 2,500 temples; inaugurates new projects


Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday launched the distribution of cheques for undertaking ‘thiruppanis’ in 1,250 temples, under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department.

Cheques to the tune of ₹62.5 crore were distributed.

In another event, the CM virtually unveiled the foundation stone for the construction of over 2,400 housing units in tenements by the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board. These housing units are to be constructed in Dindigul, Namakkal and Tirunelveli districts at a total cost of ₹327 crore.

Mr. Stalin also virtually inaugurated 10 new projects that have been completed in various districts at a total cost of ₹58.50 crore. The new projects include fish landing centre, hatcheries, fish farms, among others. He also unveiled the foundation stone for establishing a cattle fodder manufacturing unit near Aruppukottai in Virudhunagar district at ₹15 crore.

He also virtually unveiled the foundation for establishing a bait arch along with a fish landing centre in Radhapuram taluk in Tirunelveli district at a cost of ₹15 crore.

The CM also virtually inaugurated new buildings for the Revenue Department in various locations. The new buildings were constructed in Chengalpattu, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Kancheepuram, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Thanjavur, Theni, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Tiruppur districts at a total cost of ₹16 crore.

Ministers K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, Anitha R. Radhakrishnan and R.S. Rajakannappan; Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials were present on the occasion.
