The recent IIFA Awards have been receiving a lot of backlash from the public, primarily regarding Shah Rukh Khan winning Best Actor for “Jawan”, over Ranbir Kapoor’s acting in “Animal”. People are taking to social media to vocalize their criticisms and point fingers at the integrity of IIFA.
“Nothing will expose the hypocrisy of award shows more than the fact that they do not give best actor to Ranbir Kapoor and best director to Sandeep Vanga Reddy for ANIMAL,” said Sanjay Gupta, the famous Indian director who is famous for remaking Hollywood films.

According to some, even though Ranbir’s acting in Animal was far superior to SRK’s in Jawan, it was SRK who got Best Actor, and not Ranbir, indicating the rot in the system of IIFA, which seems to prefer big names over true talent.
While people are too quick to point fingers, it is important to know the broader context. Bollywood was pathetically flopping in the eyes of the audience post-pandemic. With a series of failures and without any success in sight, the industry needed a savior.
