Shah Rukh Khan is all set to return to the big screen with King in 2026. As per the latest update, Deepika Padukone has been finalized to play an important role and it is going on floors from May 18, 2025, in Mumbai.
A source claimed that SRK was willing to bring Deepika for the film and things initially did not work out as the actress was having date issues and was on a break to spend time with her baby. However, Deepika managed to give her dates since King had to go through some production delays.

The role portrayed by Deepika was supposed to be played by Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. It is confirmed for now that Deepika will appear in a full-length role instead of a cameo, and the writers have prepared a perfect role for her.
Although the makers have not taken a call regarding a specific release date, King is reportedly aiming to arrive between October 1 and December 31, 2026. Apart from that, Sachin-Jigar would compose the music and the background score would be handled by Anirudh.

King will be SRK and Deepika’s sixth collaboration after Jawan. The duo has previously worked together in five more blockbusters, including Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Happy New Year, and Pathaan.
Deepika has undoubtedly been a lucky charm for SRK, and only time will tell if history will be made for another time with King. Siddharth Anand has already left an impression with Pathaan, and it will be interesting to see how he presents SRK this time on the big screen.
