Sidharth Malhotra has been struggling with a series of failures for years, with no box office hit to his name in the last decade except for the OTT release Shershaah. His most recent film, Yodha, despite being a decent effort, ended up as a disaster.
Currently, Sidharth is shooting for his next project Mitti in Uttarakhand. Reports suggest that the film’s lead actress will be Sreeleela, with her portions of the shoot starting in October.

Sreeleela, whose career in the South has hit a rough patch following the underwhelming performance of Guntur Kaaram, has been eager to expand her horizons by venturing into Bollywood.
She has now signed on to play the female lead in Mitti. According to insiders, it’s a strong, author-backed role, something Sreeleela has been actively seeking. After reading the script, she immediately said yes and was excited about this new collaboration with Sidharth.

Interestingly, Sreeleela was previously reported to have signed Varun Dhawan’s comedy film, which would have been a more promising opportunity given Varun’s stronger box office pull compared to Sidharth.
Producer Ramesh Taurani recently clarified that Sreeleela was never part of Varun Dhawan’s film to begin with.

This decision to work with Sidharth, an actor currently grappling with continuous failures, instead of the more commercially successful Varun Dhawan, has left her fans questioning her wisdom behind this move.
