    A special five-day session of the parliament begins today with a discussion on the parliament’s journey of 75 years. Eight bills are listed for this current ongoing session. The sitting will shift to the new parliament building on Tuesday after a function in the central hall of the current building. A special session was also held when India completed 50 years of Independence. On 15 August 1997, a midnight session was convened.

    The five-day session of the parliament began with Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla addressing the house. Mr Birla began his address by lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘visionary’ leadership for the success of the G20 Summit. He also congratulated the nation for successfully conducting the G20 summit in the country.

    The Parliament session will end on Friday.

    Leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc met at Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge’s Office in the parliament today. Their meeting ahead of the special five-day parliament session that’s going to begin at 11 am today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak in Lok Sabha during the special session today.

    TDP MPs Protest In Parliament Complex Against Chandrababu Naidu’s Arrest

    Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs protesting at the Gandhi statue in the Parliament complex against the arrest of party chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in a corruption case. “Chandrababu Naidu has been arrested in an illegal manner. His arrest is illegal. We demand his immediate release. We will raise this issue in the parliament,” TDP MP Rammohan Reddy told NDTV.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak in Lok Sabha at around 11:15 am. Both the Houses will convene today for a five-day special session that will begin with a discussion on the journey of 75 years of the Parliament. Lok Sabha Speaker and Rajya Sabha Chairman too will speak on the topic in their respective houses, besides other speakers. BJP’s senior leader Piyush Goyal is expected to speak on this in the Rajya Sabha.
