Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya Insults Mahatma Gandhi

Abhijeet Bhattacharya is one of the most popular and legendary playback singers in the Bollywood Film industry. He is known for his classic hits over the years. The renowned artist has become the center of attention, not for his timeless classics but for all the wrong reasons.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya was recently a part of a podcast where he discussed another legendary music composer RD Burman. He compared RD Burman with Mahatma Gandhi stating that just like Gandhi was the father of the nation, RD Burman was the father of the nation in the world of music.

Things escalated quickly when the playback singer further added that Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation of Pakistan and not India. This fueled up some lawyers and leading the charge was Asim Sarode.

Sarode issued a legal notice to the singer for his pathetic remark and demanded a written apology from the renowned singer in return. The lawyer reminded everyone of the tireless efforts made by Gandhi for the Hindu-Muslim community over the years and also stated how he used to oppose the partition.

As it stands, the legendary playback singer hasn’t talked about the controversy in public and hasn’t even addressed the legal notice against him. While it certainly damages his overall reputation, it remains to be seen how Abhijeet Bhattacharya deals with this misery ahead.
