The teaser for Salman Khan’s much-anticipated film Sikandar was released on December 28th. The 1-minute 42-second video aims to set a high-octane action tone with Salman Khan in the spotlight.

While the teaser is a treat for his fans, it has received its fair share of criticism, with many viewers comparing it to a commercial ad rather than a teaser for a full-fledged movie.

Several social media users pointed out that the teaser lacked any actual scenes from the film, with one remarking, “It felt more like an ad shoot than a movie teaser. What was this? DISAPPOINTED!!!” Others criticized the excessive use of slow-motion shots.

There were also comments about Salman Khan’s performance, mentioning his lethargic body language, which they felt dampened the energy of the teaser.

However, not all feedback was negative. The teaser’s background music by Santhosh Narayanan has been praised, as well as the color grading, which was done by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.

Despite the mixed reactions, the teaser’s YouTube performance is impressive, amassing nearly 42 million views within the first 24 hours.

This made it the fifth most-viewed Indian teaser on YouTube, surpassing Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 (39 million views) and SRK’s Dunki (37 million views).

While the response to the teaser has been divided, the massive view count indicates there’s still substantial excitement around Salman Khan’s comeback.

The film, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, is hoped to mark a successful return for the actor, with Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead and hoping for a hattrick blockbuster after Animal and Pushpa 2.
