Stree 2 has turned out to be a profitable venture for Maddock Films and the rest of the producers. While the horror comedy did unexpected business at the box office, it has additionally led to a lot of debate on social media about who should receive the credit for the same.
While viewers have praised the work and beauty of Shraddha Kapoor on the big screen, others preferred to call Rajkummar Rao the reason why the film worked. This even led to disputes among some people with a portion of them criticizing Kapoor for receiving all the credits considering that she had a shorter role.

Meanwhile, the issue was addressed by the other two leads, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee, in a recent interview on Zoom. While the former was questioned about the issues arising out of Kapoor getting credits for the film’s success, he called it a PR game.
Khurana also stated that he does not want to comment on how others like to work. He claimed that it is the audience who gives the verdict in the end and the media reactions have also proved how good or bad the film is.

On the other hand, the same question was asked to Banerjee, who also had a similar opinion, saying that PR has nothing to do with a film’s success. He said that the cast member should be credited for the same and the discussions that are happening online won’t change anything.
Notably, Kapoor had limited screen time in Stree 2 and the same thing also happened in the first film. But this does not mean that she should not be credited at all. She has an important role that contributes to the progress of the film’s storyline.

Everyone needs to remember that this is a film where there are five lead characters. With a runtime of 149 minutes, it might be impossible to give enough screen presence to all the actors. These reasons are more than enough to end the debate. The truth is that the film has become successful only because of the flawless storyline, performances, and the audiences who purchased tickets.
