Family movies have become rare these days. As against action entertainers, film with tender emotions are valued by a good section of the audience. The upcoming movie, Shashtipoorthi, caters to this section.
Starring Nata Kireeti Rajendra Prasad and National Award winning actress Archana (back after three decades) as a married couple with compatibility issues, the film is written and directed by Pavan Prabha. Thanks to the efforts put in by actor-producer Rupeysh Choudhary (who plays the duo’s lawyer-son), the pairing of Ladies Tailor (1986) is back.

The Glimpse suggests that there is more to the film than the tension inherent to the story. Two different couples separated by generations are the centre of the story.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a family entertainer like Shatamanam Bhavathi, Shashtipoorthi comes across as one such sincere film.

Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has set tunes for songs written by MM Keeravani (one song) and Chaitanya Prasad. SP Charan has rendered a song. Akanksha Singh, Chakrapani Ananda, Achyut Kumar, Prabhas Sreenu, Chalaki Chanti, Muralidhar Goud, and Jabardasth Ram are part of the cast. ‘Padma Sri’ Thota Tharani is the art director.
