Sharmila Tells Why YCP Is Real “Insignificant” Party

APCC president YS Sharmila has become more of a pain to her brother YS Jagan Mohan Reddy than TDP and Janasena over the past few months. This might be the reason why he refused to speak about his sister at the press conference yesterday.

When asked about Sharmila’s recent statements regarding the YCP, Jagan said, “Let’s not talk about my sister. The Congress Party has a 1.7% vote share here. Let’s not talk about a party that is insignificant in Andhra Pradesh.”

Sharmila countered Jagan’s statements today on X. She challenged all YCP MLAs to resign and enter the elections once again so that everyone can see which is the insignificant party between Congress and YCP.

Sharmila wrote that it was the Congress party that first criticized the budget, stating that it was not in favor of the people. She noted that Jagan echoed these same sentiments in his press conference. She added that there isn’t much difference between his party and Congress if Jagan avoids the assembly with a 38% vote share.

“Jagan is the one who made YCP an ‘insignificant party’ by not going into the assembly with a 38% vote share. YCP, which can’t enter the assembly, doesn’t raise its voice against the government, and doesn’t stand up for people, is the truly insignificant party,” she wrote.

She stated that people didn’t vote for YCP to have MLAs sit at home. She challenged them to enter the assembly and speak for the people. She urged them to go to the assembly and become the people’s party, even if not granted opposition status.
