It seems Indian cricketers are facing an epidemic of divorces as we’ve seen the likes of Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, and Yuzvendra Chahal fall out of their marriages in recent years.
But what’s worse is the internet’s disgusting behavior towards women in these cases. The recent drama around Dhanashree has once again sparked a witch hunt, with people attacking her without knowing anything about the divorce.

Social media users were seen slut-shaming her and criticizing her profession as a dancer. Some even drew ridiculous connections between Chahal, Shami, and Pandya’s divorces, unfairly attacking their wives for simply being dancers.
While attacking any profession is in itself terrible, people stooped so low that they called a professional dancer like Natasa, Pandya’s wife, a bar dancer. Sitting behind their screens, they’ve become far too comfortable spewing hatred and degrading women.

The internet needs to stop obsessing over people’s private lives. Every divorce has its unique reasons, and comparing cases to push such misogynistic narratives shows the sick mentality of society.
This constant generalizing and judging is a sign of moral corruption. It’s high time people grow up, set an example, and make the internet a safer space for everyone.
