Sujoy Ghosh has left Shah Rukh Khan’s King as the director and has been replaced by Sidharth Anand who was just signed up for the direction of action sequences initially. Now that he is out due to creative differences, he is planning to prioritise his dream project with Shahid Kapoor.

He initially wanted to begin this project in 2021 but scheduling problems didn’t allow that. Now, the sources speculate that Shahid seems interested in the script and the film can go on floors the upcoming year.
Gosh is known for the stellar film Kahaani and later projects Badla and Jaane Jaan. Fans like the suspense that he builds in his films and leaving King to focus on his own project might turn out as a fruitful move.

The unnamed project with Shahid is also going to be a thriller as per the sources. Reportedly, he is done with the script and awaits the onboarding of cast and scheduling.
Shahid on the other hand has Deva and Bull in his bag, they are going to take up much of his 2025. Fans are eager for him to team up with Sujoy as they would love to see him in a suspense thriller.
