Seminar on women’s writing to be held in Shivamogga on March 21


Sahyadri Commerce College in Shivamogga will host a one-day seminar on women’s writing on Friday, March 21.

The forum of Kannada teachers in degree colleges of Kuvempu University, Shivamogga unit of Karnataka Rajya Mahila Dourjanya Virodhi Okkuta, and Sahyadri Commerce College have jointly organised the event.

Noted writer Malathi Pattanashetti will inaugurate the seminar and former Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Women’s University Sabiha Bhumi Gowda will participate as the chief guest in the inaugural ceremony. Noted poet Cha. Sarvamangala and Kuvempu University Vice-Chancellor Sharath Ananthamurthy will participate in the valedictory ceremony.

The seminar includes a session in which women activists and scholars representing different fields will share their experiences and a discussion on poetry. Writers and activists, including Sabita Bannadi, T.L. Rekhamba, Rathnamma, Renuka Pujari, Radha Nangenahalli, Pratibha R., Du. Saraswathi, Savitha Nagabhushan, D.B. Razia, L.C. Sumithra, Akshata Hunchadakatte, and others will take part, noted a release issued by the college.
