Thalapathy Vijay’s much-anticipated film, The Greatest Of All Time, has finally been released. It has received average reviews from Tamil audiences. However, the reception in Telugu states has been mostly negative.
The openings for the film in Telugu states were very poor and the first-day collections are expected to be below 3-4 crores share. Even bookings for night shows and the weekend seem pretty disastrous.

This underperformance of GOAT could work in favor of Nani’s Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, which was released last week.
The film had decent to above-average reviews, with satisfactory weekend collections, but it lost momentum and saw a significant drop during the weekdays. The second-week performance is extremely critical for it to break even for buyers.

The holiday season of Vinayaka Chaviti will also offer an additional advantage to its box office performance.

It would be interesting to see how Nani’s film would take advantage of Vijay’s film’s poor response to strengthen its box office momentum.
