Sandhya Theater Sritej Discharged: Memory Damaged?

Sritej, the young boy who was seriously injured in the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the Pushpa 2 premiere last December, has finally been discharged from KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad.

He had been undergoing treatment for nearly five months. The same incident also claimed the life of his mother, Revathi.

Doctors have confirmed that Sritej’s condition is now stable and free from infections. He will undergo a 15-day physiotherapy program at a rehabilitation center before returning home.

For several months, he was kept in the Intensive Care Unit. Two weeks ago, he was shifted to a general ward.

His father, Bhaskar, shared that although Sritej has opened his eyes and is being fed through a tube, his brain hasn’t fully recovered. “He does not recognize any of us,” Bhaskar said.

He added that extended hospital stays increase infection risks, so shifting to rehab was necessary for safer recovery. Doctors have also mentioned that Sritej will need long-term care.

Bhaskar expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported them. “The Pushpa 2 team, CM Revanth Reddy, and the Telangana government have stood by us since day two. KIMS doctors and management never asked for money, not even during discharge,” he said.

The emotional strain continues to affect the family. Bhaskar added, “My daughter keeps asking about her mother. We tell her she’s gone to the village. While she talks, Sritej remains unresponsive. We thank everyone who supported us.”

The family continues to hope and pray for Sritej’s full recovery.
