'Sanatan felt the end of a 500-year wait': Yogi Adityanath at Sant Sammelan

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the completion of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the growing devotion surrounding it, during his address at the Sant Sammelan organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Saturday.
“The entire world saw that last year, every follower of Sanatan felt the end of a 500-year wait, as a grand Ram Temple was built in Ayodhya,” Yogi Adityanath remarked, celebrating the temple’s completion and its significance for millions of devotees. He also highlighted the remarkable surge in the number of visitors to Ayodhya, pointing out that while only 2.36 lakh devotees visited in 2016, the number has now surged to 10-12 crore in 2024.
Adityanath also noted the seamless blend of tradition and modernity visible during the Maha Kumbh, remarking, “In Maha Kumbh, faith and modernity are seen together.” Speaking to the gathered saints and devotees, he emphasized the importance of patience in fulfilling one’s resolutions. “Patience is needed to make the resolution a reality. Impatience will bring nothing,” he stated, highlighting the enduring strength of Sanatan Dharma.
Earlier, the Chief Minister addressed the ‘All India Avadhoot Bhesh Barah Panth-Yogi Mahasabha’ program in Prayagraj, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to witness the ongoing Mahakumbh. He described the event as a spiritual celebration of unity, noting the overwhelming participation of devotees. “Over 10 crore people have already taken the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, and we expect this number to reach 45 crore by the end of the event,” he said.
Adityanath also emphasized that the Mahakumbh is not just a religious event, but a symbol of collective spirit, unity, and harmony. “It’s a place where all needs for food and shelter are met with blessings and Prasad,” he said, underscoring the event’s role in fostering global unity.
Highlighting the universal essence of Sanatan Dharma, he added that despite the diversity in practices among different sects, the core teachings of compassion, harmony, and oneness bind all. “We sit together not just physically, but spiritually, transcending divisions. This unity is our true purpose,” Adityanath concluded, reinforcing the Maha Kumbh’s message of universal harmony.
