Salman Khan’s career has suffered a few fluctuations in the last few years. Notably, he had to undergo a similar phase before 2009 where with a few exceptions like Partner and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, most of his films flopped.
However, he was saved by Boney Kapoor who produced Wanted, the Hindi remake of Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri. The action drama established Salman as one of the biggest superstars of Bollywood and he continued delivering blockbusters until 2017.

But people are unaware of the fact that Wanted was originally offered to Shah Rukh Khan at first, who rejected the same and reportedly claimed that no one could do the role better than Mahesh.
If we make a comparison in the last few years, Salman has hardly taken any time to think before saying yes to a particular script. Whereas, Shah Rukh prefers to not sign a film in a rush, which has also now made his name a “brand” among the common public.

Although Salman continued to earn the trust of the audience, his cameo in Pathaan also helped the latter to become one of the highest-grossing films last year. It additionally contributed to bringing a significant portion of the audience for Tiger 3 to the theatres.
Salman is currently busy with Sikandar which arrives in Eid 2025. Coming to Shah Rukh, he has King and Pathaan 2 in the upcoming lineup. On the other hand, both stars would share the screen in Tiger vs Pathaan, which is reportedly releasing in 2027.
