In the summit clash against the Gujarat Titans, the 41-year-old Dhoni came out to bat at No. 6 but got out for a golden duck, which invited a hilarious reaction from his wife Sakshi.

MS Dhoni ’s Chennai Super Kings beat Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the rain-hit final of the IPL 2023 , which was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday (May 29). In the final match, CSK was asked to chase down 171 runs in 15 overs, and thanks to Ravindra Jadeja’s heroics in the final over of the run chase, CSK achieved the target on the final ball of the match. CSK needed 10 runs from the last two balls to win the record-equaling fifth IPL title, and 34-year-old Jadeja hammered GT pacer Mohit Sharma for a six and a four to seal the deal.

The 2023 IPL triumph was CSK’s fifth title win, and all of this came under MS Dhoni’s leadership, who has been associated with the Men in Yellow since the start of the cash-rich league back in 2008. However, in the final, Dhoni was unable to do much with the bat and got out for a golden duck. He came out to bat at No. 6 ahead of Jadeja, but on the very first ball, David Miller completed his catch inside the 30-yard circle off Mohit Sharma’s bowling.

Dhoni’s dismissal sent shockwaves through the jam-packed Narendra Modi Stadium, and his wife Sakshi Dhoni , who was present in the stands, couldn’t believe her eyes at what she just witnessed. A video of her shocking reaction, in which she can be seen dropping her hands in disbelief at Dhoni’s wicket, is now going viral on the internet.

Dhoni, who announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2020 after playing his final match for India in July 2019, had an average IPL season as a batter this year. He came out to bat 12 times in a total of 16 matches played this year, and with the help of three fours and 10 sixes, he was able to score 104 runs at an average of 26.00 and a strike rate of 182.45.
