Royal Enfield Scram 650 Spied Again Showing Many New Details

New clearer spy shots of a Royal Enfield test mule spotted outside of India sporting Himalayan 450 speedo have surfaced and now give more detail on its hardware

We believe the test mule to be the Scram 650 based on its design which was not camouflaged and shows off more information than the previous ones. Royal Enfield had already revealed that it will have 6 models that will be powered by the 650 parallel twins and after the Interceptor and Continental, the next in line is the Scram 650.

It appears to be in the testing phase which is given away by the box placed behind the rider that is used to collect data, but it also looks to be near its production-ready form. The frame seems to be borrowed over from the Interceptor 650 except for a slightly redesigned rear subframe to differentiate it from the donor bike.

It features USD forks at the front while twin shock absorbers are used at the rear, LED headlights and taillights. However, the surprising parts were the block pattern dual-sport tyres and the single-sided exhaust which was seen for the first time on an RE that comes with the parallel-twin engine.

The test mule was also seen sporting the same circular digital instrument cluster that was last seen on the Himalayan 450 which is scheduled to be launched next month. For this model though, it was placed slightly towards the right, which is common on all scrambler-style motorcycles like the Scram 411, TVS Ronin and Yezdi Scrambler. It is expected to display many functions like the speedometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, multiple trip meters, turn-by-turn navigation, and other tell-tale lights.

The Scram 650 will be powered by the same butter smooth oil-cooled 648cc parallel-twin engine that generates 47bhp of peak power and 52Nm of peak torque that is mated to a slick 6-speed gearbox. This engine has loads of torque even in lower revs which is delivered smoothly without any hassle which will aid the scrambler type of riding making it an ideal combination.

The prices are still unknown while we expect it to be priced above the Interceptor and the Continental because of the additional hardware that it comes with, but we keep our fingers crossed and hope that Royal Enfield will shock us again with their excellent pricing.
