Baby John was supposed to end the year with a bang but that did not happen. The opening day records were not too strong and the business crashed on the second day.
Despite being released during the holidays, the film has failed to attract audiences, specifically for being a remake and having low buzz ever since the teaser and trailer came out. The situation took a worse turn with mixed reviews throughout the country.

The underwhelming performance of Baby John has left the theatre owners worried and fearing more losses in the upcoming days, the shows are being replaced with the Hindi version of the Malayalam film Marco.
Notably, there has been a heavy demand for Marco ever since it grabbed attention for its violent sequences that are being claimed to be on a different level compared to Animal and Kill.

A MovieMax theater in Mumbai will be playing five shows of Marco from Sunday, reducing Baby John to only three timings. At the iconic G7 Multiplex, the film has been shifted to Galaxy which has 200 seats. Earlier it was being shown at Gaiety with 1000 seats.
Sources have claimed that the shows will witness more reductions in the upcoming days, with most of them being replaced by other films such as Mufasa: The Lion King.

Furthermore, another report stated that Baby John was able to get only 4 single screens out of 275 at the CP Berar territory.
Considering that Baby John is a film made for the masses, it is bad that the film failed to get enough single screens, specifically in places like Mumbai. Apart from this, Anil Thadani also proved to be an obstacle who decided not to remove Pushpa 2: The Rule from the theatres so easily.
Overall, the current situation is proof that Bollywood desperately needs to go back to the time when it used to provide good stories. Remakes are not an option to keep the industry on its feet. Films need to provide entertainment but with some unique concepts.
