Actress Kasthuri Shankar, who was arrested in Hyderabad last night, was shifted to Chennai. Today, she was produced at the Chennai Egmore Court. After hearing the case, the magistrate ordered her to be put on police remand until November 29.
Kasturi was arrested for making derogatory comments against the Telugu community. Speaking at an event, She allegedly called Telugu people in Tamil Nadu “descendants of prostitutes.” These statements sparked huge controversy among Telugu people in Tamil Nadu.

Multiple cases were filed against her in Chennai, Madurai and various other cities. When police registered cases against her, Kasturi went absconding. Her house was locked and her phone was switched off.
Kasturi later applied for an anticipatory bail but the court rejected her plea. Last night, Tamil Nadu police managed to take her into custody in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

After taking her into custody, police transferred Kasturi to Chennai and produced her at court today. The court ordered her to be put on remand for 12 days. Upon the court’s order, Kasturi was transferred to Puzhal Jail in Chennai.
