Directed by Thiagarajan, Andhagan – The Pianist is coming to theaters worldwide on August 9.
The Tamil film has a huge cast that includes Prashanth, Simran, Priya Anand, Karthik, Samuthirakani, Urvashi, Yogi Babu, K.S. Ravikumar, Vanitha Vijayakumar, the late Manobala, and others.
Ravi Yadav is responsible for the cinematography, and Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music. The art direction is managed by Senthil Raghavan, and the editing is done by Satish Surya.
Andhagan is a remake of a cult classic film called Andhadhun, which was made six years ago. The original film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu.
There were also Telugu and Malayalam remakes, called Maestro and Bhramam, respectively, both of which were released directly on OTT platforms and didn’t perform well.
Surprisingly, the Tamil film industry is still making remakes of 6-year-old films and films that flopped on OTT services in other languages.
Known for its unique stories and gripping narratives, Tamil cinema is now turning to remakes of popular films in the OTT era.
Tamil cinema trade analysts predict that it would be a huge miracle if this film turns out to be successful.
