Remake of Flop Nani Film?

The trend of remakes continues in Bollywood as Saif Ali Khan has been cast in another project. It is reported to be a remake of Gang Leader, which featured Nani in the lead.

The film would be produced by Ramesh Taurani, who had already collaborated with Saif a few times in the past.

A source claimed that Saif has already shown his interest in appearing in the remake and the makers are developing a screenplay to suit the Hindi audience.

The source also mentioned that once things are finalized, the makers will move on to choose someone as the main villain alongside the female lead. The insider stated that casting for females and the antagonist would be a tough job.

The insider said that the film would go on floors after Race 4, possibly sometime in the following year. However, things might go a little bit up and down based on how things progress in the upcoming months.

Saif is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors we have in Bollywood. But choosing a remake might not be a good choice right now.

Audiences are already tired of watching remakes and they are willing to see something original. On the other hand, remakes are not doing so well at the box office, except Drishyam.

Nani’s Gang Leader did not receive highly positive reviews when it came out around five years ago. The collections were also very average.

So, it is not a wise decision to remake a film that has already not received decent feedback.

However, things might turn out to be different if changes are made accordingly based on the requirements of the audience in North India. It remains to be seen if the film can match up to the expectations.
