The Redmi 12C is a new smartphone from Xiaomi‘s sub-brand Redmi that has debuted in China with the intention of luring budget-conscious smartphone users. The phone is the replacement for the Redmi 10C smartphone, which debuted in March of last year. The smartphone is different from its forerunner in terms of appearance. It features three storage options and is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC. Let’s take a look at what the new Redmi C-series smartphone has in store for potential users.

Redmi 12C specifications, features

The Redmi 12C sports a 6.71-inch HD+ display with 500-nits peak brightness and a 20.6:9 aspect ratio. It features a 50MP primary camera sensor with a depth lens on the rear and a 5MP selfie camera placed inside the dewdrop notch on the front.

Under the hood, the Redmi 12C packs a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, paired with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash storage. Through the use of a microSD card, the smartphone’s internal storage can be increased by up to 512GB. It is fueled by a large 5,000mAh battery unit that supports 10W standard charging.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition and Redmi K60 series were among the handsets the company announced in China last month. The Redmi 12C has now been introduced by the company in the country. However, the device’s launch timeline for India has not been officially announced.
