Here is a comparison of two recent pan-India films from the Tollywood industry, currently known for producing more pan-India films than any other industry in India.
“Pushpa 2” was released in December and collected around $15 million in North America. However, despite this massive figure, the film barely broke even for its US distributor. It’s shocking that even with such a high collection, the distributor made no profit. The film only reached break-even due to the underwhelming performance of the Telugu version.

While $15 million might seem like a huge and profitable figure, in reality, the buyer did not walk away with any profits.
The recent pan-India film from Tollywood, Ram Charan’s “Game Changer,” was an outright disaster for its US distributor.

“Game Changer” collected around $2 million and closed near $2.2 million, which is just 50% of its break-even point, and will be remembered for its massive losses in this region.
In the end, both mega heroes, Allu Arjun with a massive $15 million and zero profits, and Ram Charan with massive losses in North America distribution, faced setbacks.
