The NEET-UG retest was held today for 1,563 candidates in six cities following allegations of irregularities in the medical entrance exams, including paper leaks. Forty-eight per cent of students who were scheduled to retake the NEET-UG today did not turn up, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said in a statement. Of the total, 813 (52 per cent) gave the retest and 750 skipped, shows data released by the NTA this evening.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) and Union Education ministry officials are also present at the examination centres.
The retest for the medical entrance exam is being conducted after the agency withdrew grace marks awarded to students who were compensated for the loss of time due to delay in the start of the examination at six centres across the country. Six students scored perfect 720 marks along with 61 others leading to allegations of inflation of marks which has now sparked a political row.
Late Saturday evening, the Home Ministry also postponed the NEET-PG examinations, which was scheduled today. The government said the fresh dates would be announced soon, adding that the decision was taken in the best interests of students and to maintain the sanctity of examination.

70 Candidate Skip NEET-UG Retest At Exam Centre In Chhattigsarh’s Balod
As many as 115 out of 185 students have appeared for the NEET UG retest in Chhattigarh’s Balod. It is among the seven centres in the country and the second in Chhattisgarh where a retest is on. Another 417 were to take the retest in Dantewada in the state, but it’s not known how many have turned up. At the Chandigarh centre, where only students were to take the retest, none had turned up until the doors were shut at 1:30 pm.
