The launch of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1 brought a new kind of entertainment to Tamil culture. The first season was a stupendous hit. Even the ones who were averse to such voyeuristic shows were aware of controversies surrounding Oviya and Julie. As the years progressed, the initial craze for the show slowly dwindled, which is bound to happen with any kind of reality show. However, Bigg Boss Tamil continues to be the most-watched Tamil reality show. There has been an evident drop in viewership and the hype, but the fan following it enjoys is also significantly high. High enough that the makers have decided to have not just one but two houses this season.
Last season, ended with Mohammed Azeem, a TV actor, winning the show. On the other hand, Vikraman, loved for his social activism, ended up as the runner-up. The season, like all editions, was full of controversies. Even the final verdict left fans divided. Bigg Boss Tamil Season 6 lasted for about 105 days, with 21 contestants participating in it. Shivin, Asal Kolaaru, ADK, Dhanalakshmi, Amudhavanan, and Myna Nandini were some other contestants who made a mark last time.
