Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash starrer Ramayana is one of the biggest films in Indian cinema. The film is being directed by Dangal fame Nitesh Tiwari on a huge budget.
However, there has been an overdose of films on Ramayana. Mani Ratnam made Raavan in 2010, which was loosely based on Ramayana and was a flop.

Then last year came Adipurush starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, which was a disaster critically and became the most trolled film of all time.
This week’s Diwali release Singham Again is also based on Ramayana. The film has been slammed and thrashed by critics and audiences alike for being extremely childish and trashy. It is cringe to another level, and people are having a hard time enduring this trauma in theaters.

However, due to the Diwali season, the film will get collections and might even turn out to be successful in the first weekend, but it will likely fizzle out soon.
So, people are now kind of fed up with Ramayana. There is not much interest left in the audience to witness this epic mythology on the big screen again.

This puts Ranbir and Sai Pallavi’s Ramayana in danger. The film needs to be extremely well-made and connect with the Hindu audience in a deeply emotional way, or else it might face big challenges at the box office due to the declining interest in Ramayana-based films in theaters.
